Southern Cross applauds your desire to stay in shape. We are excited about helping your volunteer efforts, and we want to make it easy.
1- Register for a Race - Local events are in papers, on-line and spread by word of mouth. If you're having trouble finding an appropriate event please contact joanie@acrllc.com.
2- Runner's Box - After you've registered for a race, email Laura with your information. Please include your name, the name & location of the event and any other items you may want included to create your personal runner's box. Southern Cross Humanitarian will post your name and a summary of your event on this page along with a "Donate" button. With your permission Southern Cross Humanitarian will also feature your volunteer efforts in our newsletter.
3- Contact Sponsors - Southern Cross Humanitarian will help develop a personal letter to email, or snail mail, family and friends asking to sponsor your run for a designated a Southern Cross Humanitarian project with a link to this Run for the Children page. Or you can simply look at the following options and choose one to begin asking people to support your efforts now! For help with creating your letter, using Southern Cross Humanitarian brochures, determining a specific Southern Cross Humanitarian project for which to focus your efforts, and/or any other Southern Cross questions, please contact Laura.
4- Ready, Set, Train!! - Now you're ready for the fun stuff! Start training! If you have any questions regarding training for your event, best approach raising money, and/or other Run for the Children questions, please contact joanie@acrllc.com.
5- Race & Brag - After your race, please send an update to Laura so we can applaud and appreciate your efforts.

Volunteer:
Jon Harris is a firefighter for Murray City Fire Department in Utah.
Southern Cross Humanitarian Project:
Jon is running the Ironman in 2007 to increase awareness of the organ trafficking problem in Peru and raise funds for the security gate for the orphanage.
Event:
Ironman - Coeur'd Alene
Personal Statement:
"Even though training for the Ironman can be quite grueling and time consuming, I know it is nothing in comparison to what the street children in Peru must go through."

Dennis Wixom, Allstate Agent, Layton, Utah.
Southern Cross Humanitarian Project:
Dennis is running 6 marathons this summer to increase awareness for the efforts of Southern Cross Humanitarian. Anyone donating $2 a mile will get your name on a runner's shirt and for a flat $100, you'll receive a signed marathon shirt as a thank you!
Event:
Super Slam of Utah - 6 Marathons in Utah starting with Ogden in May, 2007 and ending with St. George in October, 2007.
Personal Statement:
"After traveling to the Sunflower last August and seeing the children, it encouraged me to make my life more meaningful by working to make those children's lives better. If not me, who will?."

Southern Cross Humanitarian Project:
Mike is running the St. George Marathon this Fall to increase awareness for the efforts of Southern Cross Humanitarian. Anyone donating $2 a mile or a flat $100 a race will receive a complimentary t-shirt signed by various Southern Cross Humanitarian runners as a thank you!

St. George, October 6, 2007.
Personal Statement:
"This is my first marathon and I'll need all the motivation I can get. As I thought about running, I thought why not run for a noble cause so that when I am at mile 19 I have something to keep me going. All the effort of Southern Cross helps many children see life through new eyes of hope that's noble enough for me."
