Funded Homes:
Funded homes are orphanages created by other organizations such as the Izcuchaca Center, a home for girls in Anta. The Hogar de Ninas (Little Girl's Home)
Izcuchaca, Anta, Peru

The Hogar de Niñas (Little girl's home) in Izcuchaca, Anta (about 30 miles outside of Cusco), is supported in part by sponsors from Southern Cross Humanitarian.

All the girls in this home have been abused and/or abandoned and are in the care of hard working and caring nuns. The goal of this home is to provide a safe shelter while volunteers work with parents of the abused girls to change the dynamics in the home and/or find a permant placement with relatives for those who are orphaned or abandoned.

During the school year, the center provides lunch for up to 80 additional children before their 3 hour walk home up into the mountains from school. Although the home has amazing greenhouses producing tomatoes and other vegetables enviable by any professional farmer and some assistance for food costs from the Peruvian government, the nuns still fall short each month to provide care for all these children.

The Southern Cross Humanitarian monthly donation is used for every day needs, mostly food.  We are hoping to have the funds, before one of our upcoming summer expeditions, to redo this home's bathrooms.  Thus we are looking for individuals or companies interested in being team sponsors and helping these children & this home.  As a sponsor for the Anta Home, your monthly donation would help cover the cost of food and other necessities at the home.
